Turbo question

does anyone else think that a 16g is overkill for our cars? I've been told that it takes longer to spool then a Garrett T-25.

and our cars are not really that fast...

so would it be better to buy a Garrett T-25 intercooled kit then a 16g intercooled kit?

It's hard to say. I know from riding in a Lancer with the RRM kit (from a few years ago), you hit max boost FAST. Something bigger that takes longer to spool might suit some people's driving style better.

On the other hand, with the smaller turbo, you're riding at full boost for the whole time.

It really depends on what you're looking for.

I think you would be fine with a t25 or t28. I have a t28 and like how it spools real quick for rapid acceleration... you hit about 2.5-3 grand and your off. and you can always turn up the boost, just make sure your tune is good for the higher boost and I wouldn't turn it up past 10psi on the stock internals...

All 3 of these turbos spool up with 500 rpm of each other. Other factors like port size and piping can affect the spool time too. Never really been an issue and BBs don't really make it any better.

Do it! I wish I'd boosted my Lancer and just kept it.
