TSI turbo kit questions about downpipe and cat delete

I'm going to get the TSI turbo kit with a Garrett T25 turbo for my 2003 Lancer ES, and also gonna get a cat delete probably before I get the TSI kit. I already have an sr-s cat back installed on my car. I wanted to know what's the most powerful turbo a 4g94 could handle (with forged pistons and rods of course) I just wanted to shoot for 350+hp in the future so I can kick those pesky V6's in the teeth

Would i also have to tune it or just bolt it all up and go? I plan on running 6psi when I get it and 16 psi with forged pistons and rods

I am running the Turbo Manifold and Garrett GT2252 from the TSI kit, but thats all...The rest of my build was all custom..Piping, Intercooler, BOV Exhaust, & Injectors...The Wastegate on that turbo says its set at 6psi, but don't believe it. Mine actually ended up being 11psi and spikes at 13psi...and no you cant just throw the kit together and expect it to preform well...not on the stock tune. I'm still running stock internals, as are most on here...and on average we are putting down an average of 220whp...some of us are pushing more boost and getting higher numbers on our stock internals as well...Research the hell out of the threads here in the forums...and if you read through enough of it...you should have damn near all your questions answered...including on how to tune your ECU with either a EVO MAF or with a 4bar MAP Speed Density Tune. Make sure you keep us informed on the build...a lot of peeps come in here and say they're starting a build and we never hear from them again...lol.

Most definitely I'll keep you guys updated. I've only had the car for a over a year now and I've done so much to it. Just today I got a high flow cat (the shop welded it on there and forgot to tell them not to because of the downpipe that comes with the kit). I also got a brow tint on my windshield at 5%. So it's looking a hell of a lot better than when I first got it (less sun in my eyes too lol). I'm basically prepping the car up so when I do put the turbo in there, all the essential parts needed to make the most of the turbo will have already been completed.

As far as performance goes i just have a high flow cat and an sr-s cat back system. I'm guessing I freed up 4-6 horses, which isn't a lot but I definitely feel a slight difference in performance. Next upgrade will probably be forged pistons and rods just so I can have it knocked out of the way.

Total upgrades I've done to the car are listed:
•Depo Euro black housing Projector headlights
•6000k HID w/ 35W Ballasts
•SR-S Cat Back
•5% Windshield Brow tint
•MB five x 14in rims
•custom made metal mesh grill (I'm not paying $160 just for a grill; sorry RRM)
•Pioneer head unit
•Painted brake caliper and brake caliper bracket
•Smoked out tail lights (plasti-dipped)
•High flow MagnaFlow catalytic converter
•LED daytime fog lights

It's not the fastest thing in the world but I plan on fixing that by the end of this year. My main thing is to keep it nice and sleek without looking riced out and whoop on unsuspecting drivers with the turbo

I'm into mine about $3500 for the Turbo build. But you need to take into account I went brand new turbo and exhaust manifold...and all custom intercooler piping and intercooler and BOV...as well as custom turbo back exhaust...so cost went up for me...coulda put a kit together like most a lot cheaper, but hey, I like my setup Beyond that, I have another $2500 into suspension, wheels/tires other misc. mods.

This is a good route to go also if you are wanting to really know how the whole system works. If you get a kit then you will know how to put it all together and maybe a little tuning but thats it. When you put your own together you have to get a good grasp on air flow, bottlenecks, fuel requirements, oiling/cooling, electrical, etc etc etc. This is one reason I really enjoyed putting mine together as I now have a much much better understanding of the whole system. I'm still not finished (are we ever really finished?) but mine is creeping up on $1500. Would be closer to or over $2000 if I had a shop weld the exhaust, tubular manifold, etc. Just keep an eye out for good deals and never make that impulse buy unless you already know its a good deal.

I know this is a bit late but do you know what kind fuel pump i should get? I mean as in I read up on turbo builds and they constantly say upgrade the fuel pump. But is there a fuel pump to upgrade to over the oem for the 03 Lancer ES?

Just giving you guys an update, I get paid next week and my current plans will be getting new brake drums, idler pulley, K1 forged connecting rods, and the walbro 255 fuel pump. No point in buying turbo parts if the basic necessities aren't taken care of. Also I have to get a wheel alignment soon too because this past winter did a number on my car with the number of potholes it created. So I may also get that done too next week. Again I'm just taking care of the basic parts along with putting in new and stronger ones so I can jump straight to 15 psi with no problems once I have completed my turbo setup

It's a used car and it's currently sitting at 189,xxx miles. So it's only fitting that I replace most of the parts that usually wear out around this amount of mileage

There no such thing as a bolt on and go

Yes you need to tune it, using on of the tephra maps or using a stock evo 8 map and lower the timing

The 4g94 can handle any turbo you have to set the boost accordingly for horsepower, best kit overall and very abundant is the evo 8 stock parts kit provided in the threads list

Before attempting do your research so you know what your getting into

Just updating you guys, I will probably have to put this turbo build on hold till next year because I recently just got a motorcycle and I've got nearly 2 grand to pay it off. I'll be using that for racing in the meantime and keep the lancer as a commuter.
