Evo Turbo On A 02 Lancer Es????

My 1st question is, if I can put some Evo8 turbo parts on to an automatic 02 Lancer ES... I can get the stock turbo and intercooler from a friend for a good price. But is it possible to do it. If so what would be the parts I would need to get in order to turbo my Lancer. Thanks

ill be first to say it unless someone beats my post... search the aftermarket forced induction section... Yes.. a evo VIII 16g6 turbo and stock evo intercooler will work. lots of things you have to do like custom fab a manifold. change internal wastegate. do exhaust. fab pipes. This has been done a few times..... There are a few builds in the section i mentioned before. ive read them because thats what I plan to do.

and please do not type in all caps.

parts that can be used from evo VIII are.... 02 housing, 16g6 turbo, donwpipe, intercooler with pipes (pipes can be cut to fit)... Use a evo stainless mani (I decided on megan).. move runners a bit and weld on a stainless 4g94 flange to mate with your 4g94. I plan to use RRM piggy and a Zeitronix wideband to tune. I also plan'd to rig up a internal wastegate from a rx7 TII which is set at 5.5 psi to get it running. then later get a manual boost controler to up boost.

I may not be the best person to be in contact with but for sure if you have questions ill try to answer. Feel free to pm. . I have basic knowledge from what ive read. I dont have personal experience actually doing the build... yet. haha

Yeah. Pretty much the same. Pipes have to be run a bit different due to the tranny. Other notes. Crash bar has to be removed to fit evo Front mount. also. evo downpipe has to be extended a foot to meet up with a cat-back. but of course you could go full custom turbo-back. The auto tranny is fairly beefy. You can manage well over 200 whp fine. Id want a lsd though. that would help a ton. get above 250whp if ever and I would want to beef up tranny.

You would be better off buying the RRM kit if you have to ask if it will work...

I used to think that that would be cool if I could stick an Evo turbo on my old Lancer. Just spend a couple hours a day around the forum reading topics about turbo systems and you will realize that it is possible, but very difficult.

I agree. if you have 5 grand the RRM kit is the way to go hands down. Evo turbo custom kit isnt really that difficult as long as you take your time and plan it out. And also can be done for less then 2k.
