Tyler's 03' Lancer Dyno results

Overall, I am very pleased with my results. 197whp and about 200tq @ 10psi

It drives Great, the A/F is exactly where it is supposed to be and finally I don't have to worry about my car blowing up. The next thing to do would spend 3,000.00 on forged pistons and a standalone EMS to get up to 250whp+ but honestly It is a daily driver and this is exactly where I want to be. Payments on the car are done in April and then it's time to move on!

I hope you're not from northern CT. I dont wanna have to worry about turbo lancers pulling up next to me and trying any sneaky stunts.

sneaky stunts haha- I pulled up on an evo today and he was like "Wtf?!? how is this lancer ricer not 5 cars behind by now?????" Injectors are custom made 420s with a greddy ebc, fuel pressure regulator. The turbo is a garett t-28 (not the ball bearing one). You guys should have seen the side of my car after the dyno. My tires were practically shredded. It smelt like burnt rubber and this dorky cop comes into the shop nosing around saying "Whats going on in here?! MAHHH!" Grasmere inc. custom tuned everything for me. If you are in the CT area, I highly recommend them- great guys. I made decent power but in order to make REAL power, you have to replace the pistons and computer.

appears you are running quite lean in the 4k RPM range. upper 12 and 13 AFR's is pretty lean for turbo. You might get a little more mid range power tuning that out.

too be honest isnt ur setup equivelent in theory to rrms stage 2, is ur car an auto?

my next mods would be a decompression gasket and a ported head/ head work.

although as I didn't take a close look at the dyno, it seems like you are fine in that range. Nice curve. You've got power from 2500 RPM's to 9500 RPM's. My honest opinion of what you should do next is buy a decently aggressive camshaft and get that ported and polished head at the same time. That way you can upgrade the valve springs etc. in order to get a higher usable RPM level. That cam will REALLY open up the top end and might extract 20-30 more horses' easily.

Thanks Omar. I just was looking in your profile and noticed that we have the same b-day

IMO- I don't think a camshaft, valve springs and ported head is necessary to get up to 250whp safely. All you need is a good set of pistons that will take the added pressure and a computer to control all the fuel/timing and everything else. Cam,springs, ported head are good add-ons but for the money, I would rather spend it on something that would gain whp significantly.

The ported head will give a 10-15% gain which will get you to low 200's... Camshaft can easily get to 250 depending on how aggresive you get with a tune. My friend put a cam on his mr2 and got it to close to 400whp on 16 PSI. Added about 60-70 horses easily. He is using 272/272 cams I believe. Also, the springs and cam etc. MIGHT not get you to 250 but will give you another 1500-2000 RPM's which would be amazing.

The MR2 and lancer are totally different cars- it is not fair to compare the two. I'm telling you, for the money- it is not worth it.

Nice dyno, gotta be a nippy car considering how light the lancer is. Don't forget to upgrade the rods when you upgrade the pistons, that way you don't have to worry about them breaking.
