is it possible to use TSI kit with RRM ECU?

hey,

is it possible to order and use a full TSI intercooled turbo kit and then use the FMU and the injector control unit thing they give you and get the RRM piggy back to run everything so the TSI kit could be a plug and play kit?

Why create another thread? You already have one running for that kit?

I dont think anyone has tried it. You'd have to talk to Rob @ Roadrace to see if it could be configured to work. It's never been done before, to my knowledge. Also you should have probably posted this in your other thread...

yeh you could use a piggyback to tune another turbo. i'm planning on using a piggyback to with my custom turbo setup.

just don't hook up the TSI black box, and use the piggy instead. the only thing is you'd have to custom tune it.

My bad...i figured this was a different topic , as my last thread was about the kits, not using differnt parts to make it work interms of tunning...

Ill email rob i guess, or i might just go with the non IC kit from RRM for now and save myself the headaches...so hard to decide!

well i would assume the TSI kit is plug and play, there shouldn't be any other parts you need for it. you may have to get it tuned, but thats not really a big deal. at least this way you will have an intercooled turbo running at 6psi,. that'll be plenty of power.

why do you wanna use a piggy back with the TSI kit anyway?
hell for all we know the TSI "black box" could well be a split second piggyback.

why dont you just go with the 16g kit? rrm no longer supplies the t25 they use a t28 and that like an extra 300. i hope you have a rrm header as well.

The only real reason i was goign for the TSI kit was for price. For udner 3000$ its a full IC kit. But there arent too many shops around my area that tune cars....i dont even know where to start looking or how far i could drive safely "untuned" and i dont know what will happen when i hook up the kit so i dont want to drive far with problems...

The rrm kit is nice, but for 3k, im only getting a non IC kit, but it looks nicer and its a real plug and play, with no tunning and everything will work and i can also get the headers too which is why im still not 100% sold on the TSI kit yet....

why don't you email TSI and ask if their kit comes pre-tuned?

i mean if they have fixed the fitment issues in the kit then it is a pretty sweet deal, i know a lot of people running them on other cars.
