Water cooling question? Boe?

This is mainly for Boe since I know he water cooled his turbo(anyone can help out if you have input though).
1. Where did you tap the inlet and outlet lines to water cool the turbo?
2. What size hose did you use/prefer/what would benefit us the most?
3. Any other accessories other than hose and fittings needed?

thanks guys/gals

4. what size fittings did you use(3/8" NPT to 90 degree 1/2" hose barb seems to be one of the most common).?
5. what is the size of the turbo oil line fitting(-6 AN or -8 AN)?

I just spliced into the heater core lines... used a 1/2" T and 5/8 hose barb fittings. Came out with -6 fittings used (2) -6female to female hoses about 3.5ft long. Used a 3/8npt to -6 for the turbo then used a -6 female to -6male 90 fitting to elbow it to the drivers side. Fit perfectly had no leaks and didn't effect my heater in the car one bit. Car ran cooler than ever and my spool felt a little quicker.

I thought about that but then i didn't like the flow rate... i figure more is better so i went with the heater core lines.

Water Cooling Questions

I have been reading about turbos for almost 2 months now. I'm considering building a custom 16g turbo kit. I'm currently routing everything in my head, and came across a problem.

Where do I connect the water cooling lines to?

I searched and came up with this old thread, https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ad.php?t=96074 I was wondering if Boe's method is still the practiced mode of water cooling, or is there a 'better' way?

I merged your thread into this older one since it has some answers already. Boe suggested the heater core lines because they have a higher flow rate, assuming that would be cooler than less flow.

Yeah, from my research most DIY kits tap into the TB coolant passages. But that's all the helpful info I've got for yah.

Good luck!
