reving engine = car stalling?

whenever i free rev my car, or rev hard then clutch in and the BOV goes off, the car stalls.

Is my bov set too soft? or too hard? or is there something wrong herE?
When this happens, 2 out of 3 times, i have to wait for a bit before the car will start again. Im guessing the 5th injector has something to do with that though.

And yes, my bov is recirculated.

I would guess it is set too soft and letting way too much air go.

do i want it to vent at low boost though? like 3 psi lets say? Or is that amount of boost ok if it doesnt get vented? It's really annoying that it does this. It snowed last night and i finally get to go play in the snow and the car dies after it's up in the higher rpms and then i clutch in, it stalls. It's annoying and bad for the turbo!

As long as it is set to recirc it really shouldn't make a difference.

yes it does....if you have it on a more soft setting your car will stall.

^Exactly! With it too soft, after opening it'll "hang" open longer and the air will escape with it needing to go to the motor. Screw it down to a harder setting...problem solved?

Umm... no. Needing to go to the motor? As long as it is recirculating the metered air will stay in the intake. Maybe you didn't know, but some Diverter valves are even open at idle. When the stock evo's DV releases air it never closes until you are on the throttle. It stays open.

Maybe I am missing something here because I am used to the evo, but the description you gave makes no sense at all.

ive had those plastic bosch ones on my saab before..they only last so long and hold only up to 11psi or something, but not that that matters in this case though.

This bov came with the kit, so ill use it. Its a nicer upgrade than the plastic bosch ones.
