turbo'ed automatic

so i've been on here reading up on turbo'ing and i'm sort of starting to understand but it seems as if everyone who turbos is usually driving a manual car. has anyone turbo'ed an automatic?
if so how does it run compared to a manual? would the boost run different, what about rpms?
does anyone have any knowledge about turbo'ed automatic? besides, it's a stupid idea. any feedback would be appreciated.

Yeah theres been quite a few turboed autos here. They all work just the same, but the piping is a little different. Just like everything else on cars, a manual might be able to drive a little quicker than an auto, but they both put out the same amount of power and stuff.

oh ok kuz I was just with my friend who put a green rabbit turbo in his evo and obviously its a stick and it just seemed like a stick kicked so hard and when the turbo kicked in, the rpms and his boost would go wild and you could really feel the turbo power. Would those same things happen with an auto? Is it all about the stick or the rpms?, concerning the turbo itself that is.

Well that's an evo not a lancer. An auto will drive more or less the same as a stick car, you just won't need to shift. A plus is an auto doesn't lose boost between gear changes.

thank you now for a question about my own car. So I have an auto 2005 lancer es and I'm in the market for a turbo. I've read the forums and all that, except there is so much to it I'm confused. So all this fuel ratio and injectors, pistons and rods, 16g turbos and turbos with intercoolers; can anyone help me out or give me some suggestions. My mods are greddy ti-c exhaust, and the row header and catback.

I know you all are probably like read the forums dude. I have and I've tried understanding but I just can't. So can anybody maybe explain like what different levels of cc do (fuel injectors) or like different fuel ratios. Can anyone help me like figure out a good setup for maximum horse power because I need so much help. Thank you very much for any help!

You have the greddy exhaust, and a catback exhaust? That doesn't make any sense. I would suggest reading the FAQ in my sig to get you started. Unfortunately it's hard to just explain everything to an individual when they don't have any starting knowledge.

uhmm I have read it. More than once that is. I guess my biggest question is actually cncernong the fuel injectors could you point me to a forum explaining them and what different levels of cc do or could you explain it to me yourself possibly?

CCs just refers to how much fuel the injectors can provide. Thus a 256 cc injector flows less than a 500 cc injector and so forth. What size injectors you need is completely dependent on the application.

oh thank you very much. One last question about the turbo itself. I was looking around and basically figured from what I've read and seen that rrm is the way to go, is this right? If so what's better the 16g or t-28 turbo kits? or maybe I should ask what are the differences and which one gives more power. If not rrm what's another good company?

RRM is the safest and easiest kit to deal with right now. Its a complete kit, meaning it comes with everything you need for a turbo kit and it has a piggyback you hook up to the ECU and it is already tuned. RRM claims their T28 and 16G kit both put out about the same power. But if you order a kit from them, you will get a 16g kit because it has the setup for the 2005 lancer, which is different than the 02-03 kit. For the 2004+ lancer, RRM is the best because of the 5th fuel injector you need instead of a FMU. It's all complicated sounding, but once you understand turbo stuff more and lancer specific stuff, it gets easier

my cars auto...im happy with the power for a dd, i have no complaints except traction of course. even if i get a non intercoled kit set on 5 psi id honestly be happy. you really dont need that much on a fwd auto but than again thats just my opinion.
