Get a better BOV/make sure the BOV is actually the problem.

If you're talking about what I tihnk you're talking about, the BOV is the problem.

Are you talking about your eclipse? What turbo do you have and do you have the map for it?

All you have to do is adjust the BOV to make the spring looser if possible.

Is this what you are referring to?

"A compressor stall is a situation of abnormal airflow through the compressor stage of a jet or other turbocharged engine, causing a stall of the vanes of the compressor rotor.

All compressor stalls result in a loss of engine power. This power failure may only be momentary (occurring so quickly it is barely registered on engine instruments), or may shut the engine down completely (that is, causing a flameout). When a compressor stall affects the airflow through the entire engine it is also known as a compressor surge (although definitions differ, and often the terms are used interchangeably)." taken from here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compressor_stall

Now, are you saying you have this because of backfire? cause i also have this, and its pretty bad sometimes...i never though anything of it untill i read this fully...i think i have some issues here. My greddy type RS bov flutters too...it sounds like a turkey rather than the "psssht" sound its supposed to be like the other ones on youtube ive checked out...but mine was used and i just assumed it was supposed to sound like that.

I would assume he's referring to pressurized air slamming into the turbo but who knows.

Dv flutter isnt the same as compressor surge. Surge happens when the head cant swallow the amount of air the turbo is producing and it forces it back out the intake. Your not going to have that problem at < 10psi. All he is having is some flutter from an incorrectly tuned dv/bov. If your using a standerd 710 bosch valve, it fails easily. Get something betting that can be adjusted.

I think compressor surge and DV flutter are used interchangeably (at least according to a search using either term).

not sure what your talking bout exactly, but my turbo had a surging feeling when it was trying to spool if thats what you mean, and i found it was an exhaust leak in the manifold between the engine and turbo, it was small, but it made all the difference when fixed, if that helps at all
