compressor surge???
The dv is there to prevent surge during shifts, but thats differnt when your talking about surge when spooling a turbo. A incorrectly set dv will flutter. You need the right amount if spring tension for a properly tuned dv.
Hey everyone.. I am currently having the same problem.. 03 evo 8 GSR.. Changed the BOV and new vacuum line.. Drives fine until about 6-7k rpm, then BOV abruptly releases as if I let off the throttle completely, but I didn't. Every gear in high RPMS.
Service light code says "turbo over boost"..
Any ideas anyone? Thank you guys much!

Look up. Notice the car for which this particular subforum is applicable to. Now look down. Notice that you drive an Evo, not a Lancer. Look at the date. Notice how it's from 7 years ago.
...so just to troll. Thanks anyway. Anyone else with real expertise have any ideas?
Man, honestly, Evo guy... You're in the wrong forum. Amby is not trolling you. If you actually want your problem fixed take it to the Evo section where there are more than a handful of turboed members active.
But if I had to guess it's your new BOV. He he...

And this guy wondered why he didn't get any help? I hope the next guy who digs up a 7 year old thread and post in the wrong section reads this and learns from this kids posts.
Or pull the code that your car was throwing, bring that to the forums, search the code, and fix it your damn self. What a real mechanic would have done, instead of posting the same question in the Evo, Lancer, and X forums.
