What BOV?
I did vta on both my 97 eclipse gsx and my 02 wrx with no stalling spuddering problems between shifts, eclipse had the name brand turboxs rfl and the wrx had the ebay knockoff both performed well except i had to shorten the spring in the ebay knock off because it was to stiff causing compressor surge. bov's are all about taste do you like it loud or do you want it to be quiet... my favorite bov's are tial 50mm , turboxs rfl , and the hks super sequentials ...
808tyson, you're not limited by the BOV, you're limited by the motor you have. Asking what's a good PSI to run the BOV at is like asking what a good speed is to drive tires at, it doesn't make any sense.
darkmitsu, some people have had luck with VTA BOVs while others have had stalling issues. As a general rule (and from a logical standpoint), a VTA BOV is a bad idea on a MAF-based car. As an obvious example, look in the evo boards.

My experience when I ran my Forge valve as a BOV was that my engine ran extremely rich on shifts and I felt a noticeable decrease in power. I have no reason to run it as a BOV again.
