i couldnt tell you if you actually have more hp or tq, it is loud so it may be a placebo effect.

my goal is to make the car around 180hp because my friend has a 02 1.8t gti and that thing pulls you to the seat pretty good and its fast. id like to be close to that. i want to feel a good pull when i punch the car. the 02 gti has 180 hp crank maybe 165 to the wheels so i basicaly whant to achieve that. so what i actualy need is 25-30 whp. so is that achievable without going turbo? and do you thing that rrm v2 sri + rrm axelback + works chip + headers will make that 25-30whp?

Ok, a few things:

1: We never said $4k for the turbo kit, we said less than, probably around $3k - $3.5k

2: We also never said we are running 14psi, we said 4-5psi b/c of stock internals and still under testing. With these cars you shouldn't go over 5-6psi without upgrading internals and a few other parts.

3: If you want to get a turbo, i wouldn't recommend getting an intake from anywhere, it will just be tossed aside when you get the turbo.

^^ dont get me wrong, I am not arguing your turbo kit (I am waiting for some more testing and paperwork, then I might own one) I just think that in THIS guys application doing a turbo for 40hp when your kit should put out probably what 220/240??? is a bit overkill

if i can get 25whp from bolt ons ill hold a litlle longer before i get a turbo. if i can't make that im 99% getting the turbo.

I know you wern't arguing with anyone, i just saw the mis-information and wanted to clear it up lol. Don't want people getting the wrong ideas. I too agree that for just 40hp a turbo is overkill. Our turbo kit should be putting out around 220hp or so, but we'll see soon enough when we put it on a dyno after the tuning is done

A CVT kit will be started soon after the M/T is done, probably in a few weeks we will start on CVT, and of course we will keep you all posted and up to date on that

I personally have not heard of upgraded internals for the Lancers yet, but that doesn't mean they are not out there. The Evo X internals will fit perfectly since it is the same engine.

mostly true..

and im sure there will be evo x internals before lancer ones prob..maybe some of us lancer owners can grab some off the x owners.

The Evo X and Lancer DO NOT have the same engine. they are both 2.0L but other than that its about 90% different parts. There was a video on Youtube.com about it at one point.

We have a 2008 Lancer and the Evo X at the shop, and they are most definitely the same engine. Just the Evo comes with a stock turbo and stronger internals.

That would be the 90% people change when they upgrade the internals. Theoretically when companies come out with stronger internals for the Evo X, we should be able to use those parts as well. But there will be some obstacles to get past like transmission problems (for MT and CVT), electronics, stronger axles, ect.

It had just seemed to me that he meant that the engine was set up differently. It's hard to tell just through text exactly what point someone is trying to get across sometimes lol. The Engines are both set up the same way, except for a few water passages. Otherwise the only difference is the strength of the parts used. When upgraded internals come out for the Evo's, they will fit into the Lancers.

that will be great...when upgraded internals come out..then we could realistically talk 200hp without a turbo on a 2.0 motor (similar to the s2k) but of course i bet it would be cheaper to buy a turbo anyway

Hmm- "They maintain the factory 9:1 compression ratio" is that going to work for our lancer?
