what fuel do you use?
yes, ethanol has great resistance to knock.
thats why people switch over to e85.
i cant wait for a closer station to open up in my city.
i'd like to see the difference in power

oh i see what you mean.
well the highest regular gas cali people get is 91
so e85 is an easier alternative for us because its available at stations rather than storing race fuel

Are you running a piggy back or something that messes with the ecu on the car? If you were then I would understand you running premium gas.
I fuel up with Unocal 76 Premium 91 in CA.
**OOPS...this is the Lancer forum....anyways...this is what I use in my Evo 8.

Higher octane has more knock or detonation protection and burns slower. This is why running high octane if you're not tuned for it can be bad, you don't fully burn the gas and take advantage it. Ideally you want to run the lowest octane you can without getting knock. If you're not getting any knock on 91, running 94, 101, 110, etc. is just pissing money away.
theres like 4 or 5 e85 stations in the greater madison area around here. thanks for the advise on the sonoco stuff. i currently have it tuned for 93 at 7lbs.and it works great. never tried shell gas, but there is a sinclair station in middleton wisconsin that sells 100% pure gas no ethanol added. anyone think that as premium would be better than the bp im currently running.
o the 93 also helps when your morning temperature is -25 degrees!
