Turbo Mani Help
Turbo Mani Help
So I just got my Megan manifold in the mail yesterday. Today I started cutting off my old 4g94 flange, but the thing I'm wondering is if they will mate up?
And also where are you guys (Senate) going to get them reflanged?
I stopped by a welding shop today and they said it will be hard to weld because the ports are way off. How did the rest of you get it done?
Help!

WEll i have some help for you i have a guy who is selling 25 turbo mani's for a 16g for the 4G94 he is selling them for 275.00 shipped . but they are first come first serve. if interested let me know and ill hook you up. but that the route i would go insted of messing with a flange and the wrong manifold

Your welding shop has got to do it if you dont know how to weld. Senate came into a forum though and notified us that this is a poor way to weld the manifold however as it will inevitably crack as there will be too much stress on the welds due to those two outer runners.
Yea I don't know much about welding but I know there has to be a way around it.
The welder I spoke to said it's not the runners or welds I have to worry about, it's the ports and bolt holes lining up. He said they can fab one up for me but that would cost roughly $1,200. I told him I'll do more research. lol

Well what Im talking about is getting a 4g94 flange, hacking off the g63 flange, and welding on the g94 flange. The only issue really you run in to is those two outer runners. If you bend them in, when you bend the pipes it usually puts stress on the welds where the four runners turn into one. If you could figure out a way to bend them in without stressing the welds, youd be good to go. However, many have tried and not succeeded it seems.

Yea that's what I was thinking. The welder said it wouldn't put stress on the welds or runners if I did that considering they will expand with heat, idk that's what he said. And they might be able to add some more piping to line up the runners but that will cause clearance issues.
I know people have done it before. I'm just wondering how.

I have cut off a flange on these megan manifolds and welded on another flange. It is a pain in the *****. You have to bend the tubing to mate up with the new flange and then you have to weld on stubs to push the whole thing out further away from the flange or your turbo will not clear the water pipe.
To keep any manifold from cracking, it's best to fab up a small bracket that bolts to the back of the turbo (the evo turbos have these) and bolt it to the block. This will carry the weight of the turbo and exhaust instead of the manifold tubes.

I mean it is up to you but i wouldnt waste my time trying to fab something up i would just spend the 275.00 and get a good product at a inexpensinve price. that manifold he is selling is the same one that i use on my lancer.
Here are a couple of pictures of the manifold that i use on my car. this is the same exact one that that guy is selling but it is first some first serve since their is only 25 manifold available and they are 275.00 shipped
If I can't get some more info on my current manifold then I will have to sell it and buy one from your guy.
What is the brand or is it custom?
It mates up to the 16g?
And will the height of the manifold still allow space for a 3" down pipe?

Yah i have a 3" down pipe, and it does mate with a 16g with a evo 8 turbo you have to grind the top nub of the turbo because it hits the coolant tube just a little bit. but when you upgrade to the evo 9 turbo with the 10.5 hot side you have to cut a section of the coolant tube out flip that peice over weld it back in and gind that nub of aswell to give you enough clearance. thats what i did for my evo 9 turbo it fits like a glove. and the manifold are custom.
