a few mock up shots.
i just did a lil mocking up today, changed the intake around since i dont want to run cold air intake.. id rather not hydro lock my motor any time soon so i tucked it up under the hood. also i customized the greddy rs bov whistle tip to be a recirculating adapter.. i just cut part of it off ith the dremmel..

hrmm.. i wouldnt worri about hydro locking r motors. i think the maf kinda makes that hard to do.
u have alot of intercooling pipeing for air/water to get threw.. but it first has the pass threw MAF.. which with my experience normally causes the car to cut off before and real damage occurs because its readings start to get really screwy.. or atleast on my car it does.

i know what you mean... but i would just rather not suck up any water at all...
That being said, with the turbo, a cold air intake will help, but the intercooler does most of the work. Better idea would be to route some kind of ducting and build a cold air box instead.
Agreed, MAF doesnt save your motor from hydrolock by any means. I just went through a very costly set of swaps due to hydrolock. Didnt have my car all summer. Flash floods and CAIs dont mix very well at all. And it was only like 6in. of water, yet still got sucked into my intake. I advise you to do what your doing if your seeing alot of rain, ill never run another CAI after that.
Defiantly not hit a huge pot hold when I had a cai. pictures of the rod pieces. It broke 1 into a few pieces and bent the heck out of another.

Yah i was following a honda on a road we were getting ready to race and boom! i hit that pot hole and it was over. It was the biggest pot hole in the world. Water came over my hood. When i pulled the intake off it was filled with water and the oil pan had water in it also. It sucked but what ever i guess you win some and loose some and i lost that day. O and i wasnt going fast maybe 35mph.
Well I didnt know rod breaking was something to be proud of but, oh well, heres my pictures. I wont run a CAI ever again in oregon. Bad idea. It actually didnt snap the rod, it just bent the rod and I drove about 20 miles and the engine just exploded.
