Supercharged 4G94
Anybody have any info on a SC that will bolt up to our intake piping. Possibly from another application. As with everyone I am desperate for power, and I don't have enough confidence in my tuning ability to achieve and maintain good results from a TC system. I would much rather bolt on a SuperC and keep my daily driver that I love so much.
Any help would be much appreciated.

There are Lancers in VA that have been SUPERCHARGED however its being done by a performance shop which tunes Porches so the cost is 10Gs I could find out if they're willing or making a kit for the Lancer, but at 10Gs do any of you really want it?
We could adapt the supercharger kits we use on our Australian Lancer vehicles with the 1.8 motors.
The only problem is that I don't actually like using these systems because they bolt the supercharger straight on top of the intake manifold and even with a boost of 5 - 7 psi max, there is no way to cool down the incoming air and as such they can on very heavy acceleration constantly start pinging.
This is the reason why we prefer our turbo kits as because we use ball bearing turbo chargers there is virtually no turbo lag boost comes on around 2000 rpm and as such they produce more power than the supercharger system as well as being intercooled and have more usable upgrades for more boost etc.

Forget about a SC, turbo is the way to go. I have had no problems with my turbo installation from RRM, and SOON they will have a kit available which will probalby be similar to what I got. I would say just wait homie. peace, boni.
Thanx for the input guys. Although, I am still concerned about reliability of a TC engine in the long run. I'm glad you've had good luck so far Boni... but it's been what, 2 weeks?? I am looking for a long term investment that will give me power without sacrificing too much peace of mind. Don't get me wrong, I've seen OEM TC systems such as GSX eclipses run with no problem for damn near 200,000 miles, but that's rarely the case. Maybe I'll just get a quad throttle body and an MSD Ignition system or something, and save my money for some bigger rims. I don't know what to do.
Guess I'll go drink some
