Being that im runing a full evo ecu flashed onto my lancer ecu im really not worried about the stock ecu not being able to handle anything i wanna do with it.. people are making what... 800+ hp with evos on stock ecu.. the ecu is fully controllable... unless ur like an aem ems guru and went to school and learned about tuning the real way, why wasit ur time/money/sanity switching to a standalone that will yield no more hp on a car only going to make a max of 300 maybe 400hp with typical street setup pushed to about the limits..
Only issues with people on the stock ecu is that most are tuning themselfs and learning as they go. so there tunes arent perfect. Any DD or 'race' Lancer runing any setup should be able to stay on the stock ecu with evo rom without any issues. take it to a real tuner and ur done, any real tuner that knows ecuflash for evos very well should be able to get u running perfect in a short time.

i have my reasons going the route i did. vegas is weak.. no one really works with ecuflash on regular lancers, ive met one and it his tune on my car sucked. there are so many certified aem tuners here that could do a much better job. and plus i had a pretty good deal on the ems so i really wouldnt call it wasting money.. i understand that many would have so much negative comments on the aem ems, but how many have proven that its not better than our stock ecu? how many are actually running it and reverted back to stock ecu? thanks to the 2 people that actually answered my question btw. lol
I tell you what, you have proven something, in that you're pulling more power at your current PSI than I am....which all that says is you have a better tune than me (which isn't all that hard, lol). Tell me something though, can you log what happens with an AEM EMS? Can you tell me what AFR you roll through in WOT and what timing you see? Also, how fast do you see full boost?
