any thoughts?

im running a 2.5 inch crush bent exhaust with my t28 on 6psi and only putting down 173whp/192tq on a mustang dyno..

if i were to go with a full 3 inch mandrel bent exhaust and tune for 9-10psi with an aem ems, how much power do you guys id make?

i have 440cc injectors btw and pretty much have all the supporting mods except for a cam and internals.

Many Lancer owners max out at 8psi on stock internals (I think) just to play it safe

edit: nevermind!

I have been happily boosting 12 psi on stock internals for over a year

The t28 kit cam out before the 16g's. He probably hasn't changed his setup in a while. I think you just need to get some ARP head studs and turn the boost up

coz i have an aem ems already. and plus a standalone is better than ecuflash. although it might be overkill with my current setup. lol

Honestly, you can do way more with ecu flash at least from my understanding. ECU controlled boost, sd, knock light into your cel etc. Id sell the ems and get retuned. Not to mention can pass emissions for sure where as ems dont you automaticly fail?

does everyone hate the ems here? the stock ecu can only do so much you know. id really hate to see this thread become a standalone vs ecuflash thread. the question was pretty simple, i wanted to get an idea of how much power i should be making with this and that. i prefer not to use ecuflash, lets just leave it at that.

Im giving you my thoughts. And honestly if i wanted to turn it into that I would have said ems sucks go ecu flash like me. 03lances is runing 12psi steven121 was runing 15 zulu989 was up to 18. demon is at 25psi. im not worried about the stock ecu not being able to do it.

you should be a little over the 200 mark I think. Find the dynoed lancer thread and see who has a similar set up to you to give you an idea.

I honestly don’t know the power you would be at but I know that on my old set up Evo 9 16g I had 3'' downpipe to 3'' electric cut out then to 2.5'' Borla and with that cutout closed it made a huge difference. Never dynod it but my good friend that I would race all the time with a boosted lude. Would pick up 30ish peak hp from uncapping his and he was the same as me 3'' before cutout 2.5 after. I would go 3'' for sure. Good luck

I'd bet 200-210hp with 9-10psi, although...I only get 150 with 5-6psi, so your tune is probably nice!

I don't mind EMS, but you know what, it's all about personal choice. I tell you one thing, EMS is intended for "non-standard" setups, so adding a turbo to a car that doesn't have one is a pretty solid choice imo. We all use ecuflash because it's cheaper, easier, etc....but every one of us has run into slight issues with lean/rich at idle/cruise, etc etc...With EMS, it's all well documented, each option is obvious, where as ecuflash you have to guess sometimes. Sometimes things are backward, labeled wrong, etc...both are very viable options.

Oh, can you tell me what timing you see on your WOT dyno pulls? like 3* at 3000....5* at 4000, or what. Also, pro tuned or you do it yourself?
