I think blitz's sound best. but the two stage apexi would probably be most beneficial performance wise.

To tell you the truth, most of them sound the same...it's the way you have it setup mostly. Mine for example is a Greddy Type-S BOV, and I like it. It's not very loud because it is vented back into the intake pipe. The reason for this is because the MAS tells the computer how much fuel to add for air, and if the BOV vents the air into the atmosphere then you will be running too rich. But anyways, main point is that you should worry more about performance then the way it sounds because they are all mostly the same.

Theres the turbo XS which I've heard good things about or if you want to go cheap a first generation DSM stock BOV which then can be "crushed" to hold more boost.

Didn't the DSM BOV's have trouble holding high boost? Can I assume this "crush" simply replaces say, the spring or am I just way off base?

The stock 90-94 DSM BOV was good at holding boost. It will hold 17 psi, and easily 19 when crushed, which just makes it open a little later. There are also a couple other tiny mods you can do to get it to hold a couple more psi. It's the best deal because you can easily find them for $40.
