legal or not?

hey guys, is the road///race turbo legal? if i were to get pulled over and the cop told me to pop the hood would i get my car impounded for the turbo he discovers???

Eh...Not unless the cop has a personal grudge against you and doesn't mind risking his badge/integrity?

EDIT: Ack! Any other guys suffer from premature posting?

Anywho...aftermarket turbos are hardly contraband.

As long as your intake/exhaust are either CARB legal or exempt, you should be ok.

Or around street racing. As for not worrying about legal or not legal... it would suck *** to get your car impounded for something stupid.

Go for the turbo, I mean, how often is it that people with a turbo get noticed and pulled over...unless you'r a street race fanatic! And now that turbo's are becoming more and more common in new cars, they are of less concern. All cops look for is the exterior work when it comes to souped up cars, aside from speeding!

I dunno, NightCrawler.. it depends on where you live. Cali is tough as hell as far as various mods go. I mean, they flip out over cone intakes and such. Here in Texas, the only fix it tickets I've heard of come around inspection time, and also, there's a big thing with undercarriage lights out here.
