I still don't buy the synthetic is bad argument. Oil weight is oil weight, viscosity is viscosity. I use(d) Mobil1 15w50. You may want to go a little heavier than 10w30. Pretty much up to you.

BTW, Chances are that if a synthetic thins out beyond the clearances of the oil pump's ability to pump it that dino would do the same, and probably also coke up on the harsh cooldown when your motor stops running.

Try finding the thread. I know it's around somewhere. I'd love to hear arguments and see evidence of why synthetic is bad, but I've yet to see a convincing one. I'm all for learning more, so any additional/new info would be interesting to read I'm sure.

oil

Synthetic holds viscosity and general qualities to much higher temps such as those created by our turbo.

Go ahead and put synthetic if you are a baller and can afford an oil-change every 700-1000 miles because if you run youre car hard thats when you will need to change it (boosted motors that is). Just better to be on the safe side the HP increase isnt really that much from what i've heard. Unless your boosting 20+ psi and youre only going to be running 5-7.

I use 20w50 pennzoil because a wise pimp once told me so.

later fools.
