i can use the stock evo 8 intercooler and piping right?
That's right...also your build will vary depending on how much psi you want to run? 10psi and up or less than 10psi? If you buy the evo 8-9 turbo watch if it has the jpipe, oil and water lines, dump pipe and wastegate attached to it or not. if you're going with 10psi and up you can keep the stock evo 8-9 wastegate actuator, if not you will have to buy an aftermarket adjustable wastegate with a lower psi spring. If you're going straight up to 10 psi you also need the evo 8-9 maf. Don't forget you need an oil sandwich adapter for your oil feed line, 1 or 2 10-12'' slim push or pull fans depending on what manifold you're going to use and where they are going to be mounted and brand new spark plugs with a higher temp resistance is always good (NGK BKR7E instead of the stock NGK BKR5E).

so if im wanting to stay between 5-7 can i get everything minus the wastegate acuator?
and basically i can put the oil sandwich on and leave the bolts in the holes for now?
yeah i almost didnt think about spark plugs for the list
and for the fans are those a replacement of what i have or extra ones i need to put in?

2-If you want to stay below 10 psi you NEED the aftermarket adjustable wastegate.
3-You are right about the sandwich adapter as long as you have bolts blocking the extra lines holes everything will be fine.
4-You need aftermarket slim fans but those are not direct replacement parts. They have to be fitted in and are universal

Sorry for bringing this back up, but is there a more specific explanation on where this is? I would like to know the exact location. If anyone has done this and has pictures, that'd be great.
If you take the passenger wheel off and the plastic behind it. It's right beside the oil filter and takes an Allen head to remove it. If you can't find it. I'll take a pic of it for you. I run my oil feed off of that and gauges off of a sandwich plate
Awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll take a look after work today. What kind of fitting do you use for your oil feed from that spot? 1/8NPT x 4AN? I was just trying to order everything I need to piece together the feed and return.
I believe I have a 90 degree, 3/8 NPT to 1/8 NPT Should be able to get one at lowes
Ok, I found the spot you were talking about. It's pretty convenient. I just ordered a 90 degree 4AN x 1/8NPT and a 12mm x 1.25 to 4AN banjo bolt to go with it so that takes care of the oil feed. I ordered a sandwich plate just in case for future gauge use. I also ordered a 10AN fitting for the oil return that I'm getting welded to the oil pan but I'm afraid I might have gone too big... What size did you use for your oil return?
