Turbo on stock internals, even Stage 2 is possible but you would run a little less boost.

Rock,

Could you please tell me what stage 2 includes on your turbo systems.

Also, if Iwere to get the non-ic turbo-kit, can the ic you guys offer for the lancer easily be added or not.

Thanks.

i can answer most of this. I started off as a non-ic kit, then changed to intercooled as I had more $$, mainly it is just a piping change and the turbo housing has to be modified.

As for stage two it is a piggyback some injectors and i believe something to adjust boost.

i talked to an employee at rrm about these two questions a couple weeks ago bc i have the nonIC kit. he told me that stage 2 consists of the piggyback and upgraded injectors. the cost of it is 1300. if you were to get the IC after buying a nonIC kit then youd have do more than just adding a IC. youd have to turn the turbo around to blow the opposite direction, this will require cutting of the top and rewelding it. the cost of the IC and its piping is 1000 the guy said, but then youd also have to pay for a chop to do the cutting and welding for you. correct me if im wrong rob.

vince, did you buy the piping from rrm or did you have another shop fab it for you for cheaper? if you got the rrm piping did it fit with the IC you got, since you got a larger one than rrm sells?

i had RRM do the piping (yet again I am local to them so i cruised on over).

Their piping was made to their kits spec's and fit my intercooler just fine (they sorta planned for people to do their own thing and their couplers just needed to be trimmed down a touch).

Easy and simple. took about 3 hours to fab em up and install (then we uninstalled and took em to the painters. Install was another hour so all in all it was pretty easy.

As for the money, I took half of my paycheck put it in the bank and paid for it in a month and a half

vince do you think it would be cheaper for me to find somebody local to fab the piping for me? how much did rrm charge you for the piping? i could probably paint it myself. i most likely can do all installs myself, err i mean with a few friends.

i paid for my turbo with some scholarship money and some work money. i also got it for real cheap used form another member for 1500 too.

not sure. I know you can call RRM and ask em for a price on just the pipes. I am sure they will give you a price.

so what is the difference between stage 1 and stage 2. Just injecters and a piggyback? and an extra 1300 on top of the 4g's?

Stage 2 has been tuned for higher boost levels... basic kit comes with piggy, injectors, injector clips, injector spacers, New bolts/nuts for injector adaptation, and new spring for wastegate (9 psi)+ instructions. This gives you 230+whp and 240+wtq. The kit is designed for stock pistons. If you have better internals then tell RRM as they can give you more boost with a better wastegate spring... The limit is 13psi as the drag car blew out its rods before we could go higher. Once its back into the mix we'll finish higher tuning.

Intercooled kit 4G's + stage 2 on stock internals= 5300... a little pricey maybe... faster than any other lancer FI system, at those numbers it better be or you can't drive! HAHA!! Capable of higher with better internals... definately! Worth it?? We'll i'm smilling everyday that i punk a cobra, srt, and many others without even getting it into 4th!
