Everything is installed and 20w 50 oil in car. Feed line has been primed and i have less then a half a tank of 87 octane gas in my tank.

On my stock ECU can i start the car up and let it idle so i can check for leaks? Or do i need to flash first?
Should I put 91 octane in before i start or will my 87 be fine till its gone?

DO NOT get into boost with 87 octane fuel, even if you reflash...if you haven't reflashed the ECU, I wouldn't even attempt to drive it...you'd be surprised how quickly you can destroy an engine if it's not tuned properly...

do you have a decent base tune, or is it the stock Evo ROM? I would not even use a boost controller to start, and get your tune solid without it...when you get greedy for power, then install the boost controller, and make damn sure it's set to minimum before you attempt to go into boost...

do you have a boost gauge and wideband?

So ill get some 91 octane later today.

I have a wideband gauge boost and exhaust temp.

My evo 8 rom has injectors and maf maps done. Did everything with disabling the imobalizer from Senate's post.
Im seeing if i can get timing and fuel maps from someone on here but havent heard from them yet.

Hi,

Nice going so far.
What do you mean when you say
"Here is a pic of the turbo i bought. It was from somone that had it on there lancer. Stock evo 8 turbo. Already been grinded down. "

What needs to be grinded down on the turbo ?

Thanks.

I don't know much about oil. So I did research on here about what oil to use and narrowed it down to 20w 50. I have 175,000 miles on this motor. When this motor craps out I will be swaping in the same 4g94 engine with 50,000 miles on it. Should I use the same oil then?

Got this car in 2013 not knowing how to drive manual or change my oil. Never owned a Turbo'd car before...
When I start running boost usually my eyes get big and adrenaline kicks in. Then I push the clutch, hear the bov, and I scream some sounds (of excitement) ....not words but sounds

20w50 is waaay too thick...I would run 10w30 synthetic.
