Thumbs up 22,000 miles on RRM TURBO

Well i got my Road Race Motorsports turbo kit a little over a year ago and have put some 22,000 miles on it and thought i would write a little about it. All in all this is a great kit i have been running just under 9 psi for most of the time i have had the kit and have had nothing but kill storys and compliments. I can keep neck and neck with lightly modded evos, blow past wrx's and mustangs. i scare old ladies with my damn loud waste gate and sweet sounding blow off valve.

I have had very few problems with the kit and the ones i have had are just small things like melting throttle cables (im on my 4th) and thats all i can think of off the top of my head. There just a little more maintnance involved like re-tightening hoses & exhaust, checking for leaks (just normal stuff after doing a major mod such as this)

So pretty much all i can say is I love this turbo kit and have never regreted droppin the 4 grand+ for it. everyone should go turbo. thanks RRM and their staff for good customer service and a awesome turbo kit.

check out my profile for pics

mods sorry if this should be in a product reveiw thread

Good to hear it. The reason you are melting throttle line cables is because you only have 1 bracket that connects the cable to the cylinder head. This is how all lancers are stock. So just goto the dealership and buy an additional bracket and connect it to the cable and you will not have anymore problems. Mine never done it before and I got 2 Good luck, later.

If you don't want to buy the bracket, you can also just zip tie it to the other connector like I did (I know it sounds ghetto, but it works).. Also, you can use some heat wrap on the throttle cable, I have done that as well. Mine never started to melt, I just went ahead and took the precautions just in case..

If you don't mind me asking, what are you guys running in the 1/4 mile? Any faster than the RIPP SDS?

I don't believe the RIPP guys have taken their cars to the track... or at least they aren't posting the results I've been dying to see one out here... can't wait to kill it! Most guys i know that are intercooled at 7psi were running 14.2's on stock tires. One of the more local guys got a 14 flat but he had some stick RA-1's on i believe. Got his 60ft times down to about 2.0 instead of the other guys that were about 2.2-2.3!
