OT but somewhat applicable- Waggi32 AKA Chris from minnetonka, I watched him and Ryan (TSI turbo) race each other on the freeway and one quick run on a industrial strip. Its too close to call, the TSI kit gets out of the hole quick but the RRM kit pulls harder later and he is definitely catching up towards the end. The only way to tell for sure would be on a legit strip. My estimation is they are damn near dead even from a stop to the 1/4. TSI out in front at first and RRM catching up and if there was enough room overtaking. In a roll-on RRM has it.

Chris called me sunday and I should have ditched the old lady to come down, watching the vid it looks like you all had fun.

what mods does waggi have aside from stage 1 intercooled? i would assume that the tsi kit is getting a better jump due to the smaller size of the t25 and the slightly quicker spool, that or tsi is a better launcher...id really be interested in seeing this race from about a 20 mph roll.

I went through my entire intake side and every single hose once thinking I might have a boost leak. Turned out I had 4. Stock rubber hoses do not deal well with the heat, and while urethane ones do better with heat, they have more of a tendency to appear more flexible than they really are. 3 of the tears/cracks were in small rubber hoses on the intake manifold and thereabouts.

I had a RRM silicone hose crack in the same place. Replaced it with a Hose Techniques (I liked the color better and it was easier to match) and haven't had a crack yet. The RRM hose was on longer though and this one has started to discolor due to extreme heat (not suprising), but I still don't know which is "better". I have a lot more of the HT hoses though so I know what's going back on if this does crack again.

I'm looking forward to seeing your AFR's on the next pull. I'm really curious to see what range it has.

I was naive to the fact so much boost could be lost in those small vacuum lines around the intake manifold. Live and learn I guess. I bought the silicone hose kit from options, so I can't compare any wear and tear stories with Hobie. (The Brand was "Driveway")

I can see the TSI turbo kit spooling faster and possibly aiding in launch do to quicker spool and less wheel spin, but the T28 will deliver more punch top end. If Chris's car was pulling on Ryan near the end of the quarter, the Stage 2 (running properly) will eat it up...

Cris where you at?

mcbrown ur right u might be faster, but that night was 7 psi and just slapped on no tuning yet, and for paying so much for all of ur kit i would only hope that u would pull on me. 4500.00 vrs 2800.00? With ur fuel management and throttle body and manifold, injectors and being tuned if u didnt pull on me i would be disapointed in all those extra mods.

McBrown- Too bad I never put anything back on or back together, the manifold still needs fitting and what not. I have the IC and some of the piping, the oil lines FMU FPR fuel pump and the gauges fitted and on it still along with a half a CAI a kamikaze header and a testpipe. Bastardized to say the least, but it gets around ok. No time no money and no motivation, I fell in love with bikes. I am still planning on attending the cook-out though.

well good thing mcbrown would spank you then, stage 1 was pulling on you, stage 2 WILL eat you. not trying to be a dick but don't attack him with prices and his decision to go with a proven kit.

Ryan, I'm not trying to be cocky or put down your kit at all. I think a lot of people are just looking for comparisons on the different options for forced induction on our cars. I think by Dyno testing and some "races" from rolls, at the strip whatever, it can give people more information and broaden our purchasing options. Heck, looking back I wasn't aware there was another option when I got my RRM kit and that was only a few months ago.

Like you said, with the extra money I have invested in the car, we would all hope my car is faster. I have a lot of respect for someone who takes the plunge, gets an "unproven" kit and makes good, useable HP. If you look at some of my past posts, I have been a huge supporter of the RRM kit, but at the same time have voiced my opinion on several matters both ways. Some could say I'm justifying the extra money I have put in the car and quite frankly I think it is information others might find useful when slapping down their hard earned money.

hot shot , i pulled harder off the bat and rrm caught up around high speed at 8- 9 psi to my 7 psi, stage one and i were even id say in a quarter mile, it didnt beat or spank me in the 1/4. As far as compared to the stage 2 yet to find out i guess ill have to go out with mcbrown and run 9 psi on my kit, and why from a roll ? Why not launch and a roll , launching is a big part of racing at the track and other places as well, besides my car from a 20 roll is even better because i have traction and waggi 32 saw with his own eyes that from a 20 or even a 40 roll my car pulls hard until about 100 mph and how often do u need to go over that speed, so im not getting upset or mad im just stating the facts, stg2 probably will be faster but its not going to eat me like u say it will, i think it will be pretty close from 0-100 , whether it be from a stop or a 20 roll, but from a 70 on my t-25 will start to give to the t-28, thats where my weakness is 70- on compared to rrms t-28 , I think 0-85 will be very close. Talk to yall later

hey, been busy with work out of town for the last couple days and the internet hasn't been working here. On sunday I pulled 181 with 210 ft/lbs at 9 psi with stage one and bigger injectors with pretty much no tuning at all except with and afc but that really doesn't do ****. I really need to start looking at some sort of engine management so
i can make real power with fuel and ignition timing. hey ryan by the way I just had to order up that blow off valve of yours after hearing it so much on monday. I cannot wait for the cookout next sunday. andy maybe you ryan and i could get together this weekend and get your turbo in and running right for the cookout. let me know what you think. I'll be back in town by probably 3 or 4 saturday afternoon.
