Boost leak kills my Dyno run!!
Waggi32... you said your stage 1 with bigger injectors and AFC? Thus you're not a true Stage 2 RRM kit.
Ryan... you won't be close to MCBrown once he gets his leaks fixed... don't judge RRM by someone who modifies the kit and doesn't stick with a tuned setup that RRM provides.
Waggi32... you definately need to get that thing tuned. If you put stock injectors back in and ran 7psi you'd put down better power! Get some tuning in for sure and good luck you're almost there.
MCBrown... you should get your leaks fixed and let Ryan see what Stage 2 RRM is really like. Make sure Ryan runs 9 as well like he stated. You won't have a problem.

Like i said i would only hope he would beat me, thats why i could care less if he does , if it is as fast as u all say, i cant wait to see a lancer go that fast and it will only keep me motivated to keep tuning and playing, and hot shot u never seize to keep me laughing. Catch ya later rrm'ers.
I love the competiveness. It's what makes tuning your car so much fun. Both you guys need to head to the drag and let 'er rip, do three or four runs. Have some fun.
Some people take this stuff to seriously. Everyone goes their own route for their own reasons. I give Ryan mad props for going with the unproven kit, and by the way it sounds, it's working out pretty good. Good stuff. I love it.

boe i never said that i was stage 2 i said that i was stage 1 with bigger injectors and running 9 psi. I do plan on getting some tuning but i plan on going away from what everyone else is doing by going stage 2. this winter I am pulling the engine and completely building it so i am thinking i will either go aem ems or the e-manage as my fuel and ignition tuning. as of right now i am leaning towards the stand alone cause i will have plenty of time to mess around with it this winter since i will not be driving the car until spring. but for now i don't plan on getting any real tuning since the car is runnning rich enough that i am not worried about frying a piston plus the car goes away in a month or two when i go to college. Boe any opinion on whether i should go stand alone or e-manage?
AEM if your serious... you'll have full control over everything as well as many added perks like lauch control/rev limiter/etc.
The emanage is still a piggy back thus you are still using the stock ecu's parameters and ways of thinking. You can only deviate so much in the stock ecu before it gets wigged out
The emanage can hinder some of your tuning ability by not allowing you to take out enough or add enough when you get into bigger injectors/high boost. Also it has no fail safes in it... ie you can't program knock control or temp controls with it like in the AEM. You also can't se up warm up cycles or barometric compensations either. The AEM, while expensive, is the most bang for the buck.
It is nice to know that if your car sees knock it will pull timing, or if the engine is running a little hotter it will pull some timing. Also you're boost compensation maps can be set up so well that in the even of an overspike or wastegate failure you probably won't blow a built motor. You'll feel the huge power differece... see the gauge... and know somethings up. At least your motor will be intact though. Emanage cannot do this.
I'm not knocking RYAN's setup at all... i just know my tuning and i know the RRM kit on the lancer. In fact i actually praise the TSI kit as being the best priced kit for someone who knows what their doing. If you have no knowledge of boosting/turbocharging don't get it but if you do it offers the best starting platform price i've ever seen.

If you get the EMS we'll really have to compare notes...especially if you go MAP. Then again, that's assuming my car's running...ever (at the rate I'm going now).

BTW: If you DO go EMS, expect to spend more than just the EMS itself. Get a wideband w/ standard or gauge style controller and you'll probably want to convert to MAP as well (simple). Just factor those into the cost, because those two things are a large part of what makes getting a standalone worthwhile.
