Anyone know what he means by "the stock 5mph crash bumper"? What is that?

That's the metal bar that stretches across the front, right behind the front lip. To get the Evo 8's intercooler to fit you'd either have to remove it or modify it since the intercooler is too tall.

could u do a write up on how to install it, without removing the crash bar, plus how much do u think u can boost now? maxing out the turbo, don't u think thats a lil too harsh for ur engine?

Ya know.. from looking at that picture, with a little trimming of the under-tray, the stock EVO upper intercooler pipes look like they would also fit in there and line up close to where your throttlebody might end up.. at least with very few modifications.

BTW I took a stock evo8 intercooler and got it to fit on a honda Civic.. so there's obviously a decent secondary market for the spare parts, its only a matter of time before someone devises a header that can utilize a stock Evo Twinscroll turbo on the lancer (Just remember your adjustable wastegate to lower the boost)

you can not install the intercooler without removing the 5mph crash bumper

THE 5MPH CRASH BUMPER HAS TO BE REMOVED

you could modify the bracket but then the ic will hang too low and you'll tear ir off the first speed bump you go over.

If an evo8 fm intercooler will fit our lancers, than wont any aftermarket intercooler for an evo8 fit our cars?

I would really like to sport a blitz or ARC intercooler instead of the stock evo 8 one.
