What to do?

I need to get an alarm / immobiliser and I'm trying to decide if I should save my money and get a cheaper one or should I spend 2 or 3 times that amount and buy an expensive one? They all seem to do pretty much the same thing. Any suggestions?

well how much do you love your car should be the basis of what kinda alarm you want... if your car is you wife... then go for the expensive one... but if its just another car to you... go for the cheap one or not get one at all

Cost does not determine effectiveness. Anyone who tells you otherwise is probably trying to sell you something.

Thanks,
I might go for the cheaper one. I live in a fairly safe area and all of the more expensive ones I've been able to get prices for have just been the same brands as the cheaper ones just with a few more features that I wouldn't use anyway.

Is an alarm or an immobiliser more important? I hate it when alarms go off because a car with a big exaust has driven past but I'm not sure which I should go for or whether I should get both.
Thanks for the info last time!

my suggestion is to pick an alarm/imobilizer that is upgradable. i know mine cost about 200 some dollars installed but with all the options and extra goodies i added to it, i spend around 500. i mean you don't have to upgrade @ 1 time like me but u can do it in steps. i know imma upgrade mine again when i get it back from the body shop
