In dash screen in lower cubby?

Hey guys, I already have a new headunit and I was thinking of installing an in dash monitor (I already have a dvd player) in the lower cubby underneath the vent controls, but would it work?? The reason I want to put the monitor in the cubby and not the main slot is because I like the way my headunit lights up (red) and it goes well with the rest of the car and so I want that at the center. Call me weird, but that's what I am. So, anyway is it possible to do this?? any help appreciated

ditto for me. I assumed that all I would need is an adaptor and mounting brackets, but someone that knows for sure should post. I really want to know the answer too.

you can get the part from your dealer for the 6 disc changer, it comes with brackets, and everything your need. i have a 7 inch tft screen mounted there.

I debated mounting a monitor down there, but I think it makes more sense to mount your head unit below, and the screen up top. That way it is easier for everyone to see. It just sits down too low and you can't really get a good viewing angle on it down in that little cubby, unless you would come up with some kind of custom thing to make viewing a little easier.

I also thought about this, but I too thought about the viewing angle. I still wouldn't want too put one up high though because of theives. It is hard to put one in the car while worring about theives and viewing angles in the same respect. I would put it in the visors.. easy to do and hidden from robbers. Looks cool at car shows too.

Yup...mine looks similar, but I fiberglassed the whole piece to match my interior.

Doesn't the screen get in the way from all the gear shifting?

I have one there as well. No problems. Just get the relocation kit.

well for me I didn't use the relocation kit. I just had it cut and fiberglassed (don't know why I didn't use the kit). The thing with mine is that I can't have the screen out and in park at the same time. So what I do is when the screen is up and I'm watching it, I put the car in neutral and put the e-brake on. A little inconvenient, but it works...=)

looks really good, but now makes your lancer more prone to being broken into. hopefully it wont happen though.
