Bazooka tubes
Bazooka tubes
My father is looking for soem bass in his jeep, however he needs to store things back the too, tools and stuff. So i was think perhaps a bass tube. Now I am not a big fan of them just because i hate the look, but what do they sounds like??
Any reply on the sound quality of a bazooka bass tube would be appriciated?

Bass tubes are decent just if you want a little bit of lower frequency sound. They don't really boom, just add a little bass to your music. The bass tubes come in some of the Scion's at my dealership and they are good if you want your music to sound better. I wouldn't recommend them just because of the cost, but then again they do come with a built in amp and everything. Overall, they are just "ok".
i heard they're decent for low frequency.. i have one in my garage, never used it, got it as a hand-me-down from my older cousin. No harness for it so i wasn't sure how to wire it up. But yea they should be good to listen to rock or something with less bass than rap music...

depending on what bass tube you go with the sound is pretty good. I would go with either the 8" of the 10" powered sub. Its not going to be earth shaking bass, but it is light, dosent take up space, and cheap...

no you cant swap out the sup in the bass tube for something better. The woofer that comes in the tube is designed to work with the internat amp in the tube and the enclosure. If you did swap it out, it would probably sound terrible.
I have a bta8200 tube for sale dirt cheap. In a jeep it would produce adequate bass and would definatly save some space. pm me if you are interested, I will give you a deal that you cant resist.
the bta8200 lists for over 325, I will let it go for WAY under that...cheaper than what you can get it on ebay..

Look at the bass tubes rated frequency response for the 10inch: 39 - 1500hz
39Hz? Thats only half of what a sub should play down to(100Hz and below is considered subbass). The 8 and 6.5 inch versions are even worse. Try out a Imaga Dynamics ID10 or ID8 if your are short on space. They sound incredible with very tiny enlosures(the 8 should fit under the lancer's front seat).
