Should I solder, or crimp?

Just got my new Alpine CDA-9830, and was wondering if it is better to solder or crimp on the Mitsu adapter?

When possible, always solder. Better connection, less chance of it coming undone.

I thought I would solder mine, but I figured a tight crimp wouldn't be any worse. I got gold plated crimps and it seems to play perfectly.

I would get an adapter to connect to the mitsu harness, then solder that to the HU harness

I got the adapter, but before that I had all them crimped with little wire connectors. It worked fine.

I got my harness at Circuit City, and I didn't have to solder nor crimp. It was a smart harness that Circuit City and Metra has together.
If you do not have that option, just solder, stronger connection.

Its really up to what you are willing to do. Solder gives a better overall connection and if done right, you never have to worry about it coming undone. But, it takes more time. Crimping is definately easier, just depends what you feel like doing. Either won't change your sound quality or anything.

soldering for this is a waste of time for this application, use a good crimp. I just bought and installed that exact same hu and i just crimped. BTW u will love the hu.
