Exclamation Amp Install

I temporarily have my amps in my trunk and i would like to install them under my seats. Does anyone have any good suggestions for installling them there as in keeping them from moving. Any feedback would be great. Thanks.

That I know. i was trying to avoid doing that for the reason of weakening the frame and also trying not to induce rust into the vehicle. Any other ideas ????

I imagine that if monetary resources aren't an issue, you could have someone fab a mounting fram that attaches to the seat frame

I would rather keep on the floor where the carpet is instead of fabricating. I know I am being difficult. Maybe just cust some of the carpet and use velcro. That should work. What do you think.

I actually thought about that right after I posted my last message. I imagine of you covered the bottom of the amp w/ velcro (the 'hook' side) it would hold to the carpet

there wouldnt be enought ventilation for the amps under the seat and would just cause it to over heat...IMO....i personally dont think its a good idea, bt ts your car

edit:n/m im think you are referring to the front seats

Depends on the output of the amp and what you're using it for. If you're using it for the in car speakers, a low output amp should work under the seat, high output amps, or amps that you plan to have run subs are typically too hot to be that close to flammable seat material.

If you're just running it for subs, stick it in the trunk, you've gotta run cables back there anyway.

My buddy had his amp for his component speakers under the seat. It is actually a good place to put it because it is centered in the car with equal length to all the speakers. Under the seat gives plenty of room for free flowing air if it is just a component amp. A subwoofer mono amp that is more high performance might get a little too hot, but then if it was up to me I would use some 72mm cooling fans from a computer mounted on the sides. They are 12v so you don't need to do any modifications.

as far as mounting it under the seats ive used small wood screws and just screwed themstraight into the carpet. No need to go into the metal because the carpet will hold it enough. Oh and BTW my amp has the holes that the screws don't slide in from the sides. Dunno if it'll make a difference though.
For the heat issue i don't think you'll have much of a problem because i'm running a JL Audio 500/1 and i just have it screwed into the back seat. It doesn't overheat and im pretty sure the chance of it burning the carpet is pretty slim. The cabin is way cooler than the trunk because you have a lot more ventilation.Well good luck and keep us posted.

That is why I have my rubber maps that i picked up from wal-mart that keep the snow where it is supposed to be. I will let you fols know when it is done. Everything is now half *** cause i did in the fall when it was cold. Spring is here so i can spend more time.

By the way: Anyone selling a RRM piggyback???
