With the stock deck I guess I'd tap a switched power source, that way the amp can only operate when the car is running, or in the ACC position. Unfortunately, this won't stop the amp from drawing power while the radio is off, but sometimes these are the prices we pay.

you should be able to hook it up in the fuse box most cars have a space that is marked acc just make sure that you put a togal switch in the car or the amp will allways be on.

thanks, guys. I ended up just getting a test light and probing a couple of wires that feed into the junction underneath the driver side kick panel untill I found a good one that was switched with the ignition.
I found out later that might not be a good idea to do, as you can actually fire off your airbag if you mess with the wrong one. I found this out cause after all that probing, my SRS light would not go off and I had to take it to the dealer to reset the trouble code. (I didn't tell them what I had been doing).
The amp works great, though, no other problems, it turns on and off with the car. ba boom boom!
