stock head unit....wiring

i DID run a search for this.....

i want to keep my stock head unit, but i'm replacing the front speakers, adding a sub and amp. now my question is:

does the stock head unit have a remote turn on lead? or do i have to wire it to accessory power?

i know i have to get line level convertors for the amp to RCA, and have everything else planned out, just want to know if there is a specific remote turn on lead coming out of the stock head unit.

PLEASE, for the love of everything holy, do not tell me to get a new head unit. just answer my question. if you don't know, then don't comment. thank you.

You should be able to run a remote from your igntion. When the ignition is on, the amp will turn on. Most factory stereos I have seen do not have them.

a simple no would suffice. thank you.

before i get it all opened it up i was just wondering. i'll probably end up running it to accessory power which makes the most sense.

I just set up a system w/ the stock head unit, there is a remote turn on... look at the wiring harness, in the middle there is a blue wire (i believe it has a yellow stripe on it, but im not positive), its alone with no other wires immediatly around it. Slpice into this wire and your amp will only turn on when you turn the key to acc or of course the car is started. I recommend you cram your wire into the hole the wire im talking about is going into and test it by turning the car on to make sure you have the correct wire im talking about before you actually do any splicing. You should be able to fit your remote wire from your amp into the hole no prob.
hope this helps, if you need further explaination just lemme know,

i got prob. too. i have the remote wire comeing from the cig. fuse in the fuse box.....i dont think thats the prob. i have the amp and the subs slpice to the back speakers. when ever i go to apply the power to the amp as soon as the touch the power the fuse blows. i brought the amp in to our shop and tested it. it works fine. i have it grounded under one of the bolts in the trunk. i just cants figure out why when i apply the power the it blows the fuse in the amp.
