Putting together an audio system (Many Pics)
Well I work at Circuit City, so I get some great deals through accomadations.
I have half the stuff ordered and will finish getting everything real soon. What do you think of this setup?
Already have:
Jensen In-Dash DVD/CD Player With 7" Motorized Screen (VM9510)
On Order:
(4) Infinity REF6012I 6-1/2" two-way loudspeaker (New For 2005) for doors and rear deck
Infinity REF5761A 560 Watt 6-Channel Power Amplifier
Soon to Order:
(2) Infinity REF1242W 12" Dual Voice Coil Subwoofer
(2) Bass Slammer Single Sealed Subwoofer Enclosure (BS112S) MTX BS112S. Going to put 1 on each side of trunk.
Tsunami 1-Farad Capacitor
So how do you think it will sound? I can't wait to get it all installed!

The Jensen DVD player is pretty nice. More than I expected.
I'd say don't get the box, and make your own fiberglass enclosure. It's not as hard as you may think, and yeilds a nicer looking system and you still get to use most of your trunk.
EDIT: NM, didn't notice you were getting 2 subs. I think that's over kill, but to each their own. With 2 subs your trunk space is pretty much useless any ways, so making your own box might be a waste of time.

good start, you will like the infinity refrence subs they do well, we also sell the Jensen units and have had minimal problems with them here at Crutchfield. The amplifier is clean and also hass very good performance for the money.

well, the jensen radio is good for the price, the ini ref speakers are good for some improved sound quality, the ini amp is better than last years version. The sub will be a good match for the amp. This setup should give you good accurate bass response with more responsive mids and highs.
You could easily go with components up front though, just my 2 cents...

I heard a couple of reviews of that Jensen unit saying the screen is sharper than the Pioneer in-dash units. How does it sound? I haven't been a fan of infinity's speakers - too harsh for me now.

but, on the other hand, i love infinity's speakers. i run a set of kappa perfect components up front and i absolutely love them. they're reference series subs are definetly great entry-level subs. i haven't heard the new version of them (the ones you're getting) but the older style ones were great.
the jensen screens are pretty nice, too. although, i wouldn't buy one just cuz of the name.

On topic: Build a custom box, you will appreciate the sound quality SO much better.
$30 can build you a custom box from home depot and they even cut the wood for you if you draw it out on paper.
