New Alarm, Remote Controlled Windows and Trunk
Well, I thought I'd share my newest Lancer additions for the rest of you Lancers out there. I finally finished my latest projects which included:
1) Installing my 2-way LCD alarm system
2) Installing window control modules
3) Installing trunk solenoid to automatically pop it
Its great to finally have it all done. Now I can roll my windows done with my 2-way LCD remote or pop my trunk open with it. The window control modules are pretty cool. When you arm the car, all the windows automatically roll up. There is an internal temperature sensor in them, so when the inside of the car reaches 100* F, the windows automatically roll down 2". When the car cools down, they roll back up. Or if I prefer, I can roll the windows down by remote in 2" increments when the car is armed, or if unarmed, they roll all the way down. The trunk popper is great as well. No more having to go the driver door or pull out the keys to pop the trunk.
Anyway, total cost for everything was $185 installed (did it myself, so saved some $$ there
)
I thought of posting some pictures, but can't really take a picture of motion
I'll take one of my trunk solenoid.

can you do a how-to or pm with some instructions on how to install a security system. I have to rip mine out of my old car and put it into my lancer. I had it installed for $50 with purchase of the system, but now it will cost me almost 250 to reinstall it in my lancer!

^^ I thought about getting the remote starter one, especially since I'm moving to Michigan where they've got some cold winters. But the whole being a manual and if I accidentally left it in gear thing made me nervous, so I saved some money and just opted for the one with the remote start.

yeah, thats true, but since i'm auto, i figure 'why the hell not'
how was the install? pretty easy?
also, i've never had an alarm before cause i hate when they go off accidentally, how has this one been treating ya? I want one that only goes off if someone opens the door or busts my window, ya know?

The autopage comes with a adjustable shock sensor. So you can change the sensitivity so you get less false alarms. They say that you should adjust it so that if you slap your palm on the glass or kick the tire, it goes off.

dam, that sounds awesome!
only worry I have is you get what you pay for. There kits just seem really inexpensive, especially considering all you can get (remote starer, alarm, window rollup, etc). How was the overall quality of the kit?

I'm pleased with the kit. Yeah I could have spent $400 on a system that does the same thing, but for my $125 for the alarm, I'm happy. The only complaint is that the range isn't as far as I'd like for a 2-way, but that cuz mine uses AM, instead of FM. It still works with me in my apartment though. Someone touches my car, the remote lets me know and I can run out and see

yeah, i like the whole 2 way thing.
personally, like i said, i've never owned an alarm before and I don't see the need for it most of the time, so I think something like this would suit me perfectly
get that how to guide up
