Hardcore-- I just wanted to hear your opinion on the sub direction. If i see it right, you have the subs up against the seats?? I've always been told that its better to have them facing the trunk.. Does that get rid of trunk rattle n **** and still sound good?? Cuz my subs rattle my taillights and license plate, so even though they sound tight from inside, I sound like a tool drivin around w/ a rattling car.. Anyway.. set me straight w/ this stuff.

my subs don't rattle a thing and when the seats are closed the subs actually sound deeper but not as loud, to fix this just pull down the seats/seat and they do rattle stuff still i guess but inside the car you don't hear it because its the outside of the car rattling and the rattle isn't very loud, i used to have mine facing the rear of the trunk and one day i figured this was worth a shot, its not that hard to flip them around ya know lol

Ported boxes are better... It depends tho, if your goin for competitions, use ported. But if your just gonna cruise around, you may use sealed or even band-pass, but ported is still the best...
Im runnin a 12" JL Audio Sub, only being pushed by a RockfordFosgate 150s and still hits hard bass in the competitions... And its better if your subs face your trunk, but if you usually load stuff, let it face the seats.... but far from the seats...

Ported boxes are no good period. I have only worked with 3 kinds of subs, Kicker comps, Kicker XPLs, and various Pioneers. Manufacturers first choice for all three is sealed box at specific volumes. I am positve JL audio is the same. My friend made a sealed box the exact volume stated in the instructions for 15W6's, the result: broke the tail lights off a 1995 Bonnie SSEI. No one will ever convince me that a ported/band pass box is better than a sealed box facing a large solid surface. ryancb I dont know about them facing each other and rocking the neighborhood, nothing for them to hit off of, just make for absolute sure that the box volume is exactly what the manufacturer says and it will at least be ok.

first of all, you CANNOT group ported box with bandpass box. bandpass box is horrible, and no one should have that anywhere. as for ported, given the right application it can make your system really loud. having a ported box with the port directed into the cabin (have the seats down or somethign) should effectively double the loudness. even if the port isn't directed at the cabin, it will still be tons louder. the only difference is that a sealed box is much cleaner, crisper bass. ported box tends to be a little sloppy, but that's the price you pay for increased loudness.

as for all this direction the subs should be....doesn't matter that much. the big difference is you are gonna vibrate your trunk panels and if it's too loud cause rattling. i have mine in the corner of my trunk facing the middle and it sounds perfectly fine. it's not like you're not going to be able to hear it or something.
