The recent Sonys have been complete crap(everything since the Mobile ES series to be specific). $30 isn't bad for that though. Are you sure you don't have speaker hooked up with an impedance too low for the amp to handle?

yeah, i thought the impedence was to low too, ...i got 3 10's, so i had just two connected, light still came on after bass tunred on, then i had just one connected, still did it. amp must just be a pos.....i think i'll get a new one, but not trying to spend 500....just something that can handle 750 rms, but decent price.

one word. JBL BP1200.1
dude i had those runnin on 2 12's (infinity perfects) and wow...awesome
then i connected it 2 a 15 RFR2215 (15in rockford fosgate 1000rms)...INSANE...it blew the sub..wtf ( i think the guy connected it wronng...not supposed 2 blow cuz it's limit is 2000peak)
then i bought sum woofers at bestbuy 3-4 months ago. they're p2 12" rockford fosgates...200rms each..so 400 total, 800 peak. i got the amp turned all the way low, and my settings on my stock system turned all the way low and these ****inj hit like thers no tomm. it's really tight. the woofers + the box cost me 200$!!!. + a 4yr warr if they blow.
so get the freakin JBL 1200.1 it's available on ebay for like 2-300$.

Well if you are running that amp bridged, thats way too low. Specs say that amps only good for 2-ohm stereo and 4-ohm bridged.

The new JBL amps are tight with Crown backing them. I'm still thinking about a purchase for myself.

I actually just sold my JBL Px600.2 that was designed by crown. They are nicely designed amps and well bult. It took a 1ohm brigded load (that it shouldn't have) for over half an hour on full tilt once.
