Question New head unit w/ stock speakers

I've searched for info on this one but no luck. I was wondering about who replaced the head unit without switching out the speakers. I am like 90% sure i'm going to invest in an Alpine deck when i get home but i'm thinking about leaving the speakers as is. So, i pose this to you all..... with an upgraded head unit, how is the sound when it comes through the stock speakers

still sucks. i would suggest you upgrade speakers too. i have an alpine 9831 deck type r components, coaxils and 2 typr r amps and 1 type r 12 and its amazing. got pulled over by cops for sound ordanance with hardly any rattle. My amp was turned down and the sub was at 5 out of 15 level

It will sound a little better since the sound processing will be better than the stock ecu. But you will reach the stock speakers maximum output/quality sooner or later. So yes... it will sound a little better but plan on investing on new speakers down the road.

I have an Alpine running stock rears. Since more power is being fed to the speakers, you'll get less distortion at med to high volumes. But you'll want to upgrade sooner or later. I've personal stayed with stock rears because I never really have rear passengers. And if I did, they'd tell me to turn down the MB Quart 6.5 components (amp fed) up front anyways...LOL.

I have the Alpine CDA-9835 w/ stockers and a RF amp w/ 10" sub and sound a lot better. But I plan on redoing the whole system some day.

I have a JVC head and just switched out the rear speakers today with a set of JLs and the sound output is at least 10x better than stock. I need to do the front speakers soon, but definitely upgrade at least one set of speakers when you get a new head unit.
