Aftermarket Component Install
Aftermarket Component Install
Has there been a write up for a speaker install with component? I know theres not many more steps but I'm kinda stuck at finalizing the install with the tweeters and crossover placement.
My new tweeter just will not work with the old mount, and the crossovers are huge.

For the tweeters, use some double-sided tape on them and try sticking them in different places until you find what sounds best to you. Don't for get to try it with the passenger side in phase then out of phase (switch the + and -). I temporarily hotglued mine to that triangular panel right above the door. I'm sure theres a better spot than that though, I am still mustering up the courage to cut into a new door panel.
The crossovers don't need to be anywhere specific; they can be in the trunk next to the amp if you feel like running 2 sets of speaker wire, or stuck in the door(place them with your windows down), or maybe up in the dash somewhere. Our dash seems pretty cavernous.

^^and to add.....
It's all about time alignment too. Pretty much, where your going to get the best sound from the drivers point of view. It's always a good rule of thumb to keep the tweeter as close to the speaker as possible. This way, the mid and the high hit you at the same time. If you have one closer to your ear then the other (let's say the tweet) the tweeter will obviously drowned out the mid. Thus, making it a not-sucha'-good sound quality system.
More or less, just something to keep in mind when figuring out where to place your mid and your tweet!

Thanks guys, thats one thing I forgot when grabbing all the stuff I need for the install..double sided tape. Unfortunately the crossovers are very big so i don't think the door is an option, trying to find a place in dash might be impossible without getting in the way aswell.
The trunk is probibly the best option.

Try this out...works just fine with no problem of rain or water at all! ( https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/....php?mid=19919 ).
Nice, I like seeing other placements. I wanna stick to the stock location right now and get different A-Pillars for placement. I didn't know if people were using the stock tweeter brackets to hookup their aftermarks, I guess I'll just use double sided tape right now for mine.
