Eh, sorta OT, but if anyone in the area has that problem with their door handle and spring then just lemme know. It's happened to me a couple times. If someone wants to take a pic of the inside of their door handle and the spring for me I can show you how the spring's supposed to sit. It ain't so bad with a pair of needle nosed pliers, a little time, and a lotta patience.

Nice tweeter install, hope to get some custom Fiberglass pillars or just buy the 03 LS pillars with the tweeter mount built in for myself..again, very cool!

that was going to be an option, especially if i ****ed up the original pillars. but i wanted to do the whole install myself, and i really didn't feel like paying $40 or whatever a piece for plastic trim pieces.

hey cup, have you heard the reference or premium mb quart speakers?..i was thinking of getting those than the "discuss" speakers you have. do you think there's even a difference? just want your opinion since you seem to have experience in the audio area :], this is going to be my first set up so i dont know much, but i'm definately going for mb quart speakers.

the reason i got these were because they were on sale at 6th ave electronics for $99. they are regularly like $399 or something, so i couldn't pass up the deal. mb quart speakers are some of the best in my opinion, image dyamics makes really good stuff and everyone seems to like boston acoustics too. i can't really comment on the higher end mb quart, i know they are mucho expensive but if they sound as good or better (which i would imagine they do) as my series then i reccomend them 140%.

thanks for the input, but im not spending over $150 for these speakers..there's really good deals on ebay and i think i'll just go for 2 different setups, the premium component system in the front, and reference lines in the back.

just a note:

i believe, if i'm not mistaken, that my dsd216 (discus series) components use the reference series tweeter and a discus series woofer.

cup your setup looks really good and clean. You did a good job on the A pillar, it looks really nice. If I make it up to Jersey this summer or fall (most likely scenario go j-e-t-s), I definately look forward to meeting some of you guys and checking out your rides.

so cup

you went with the JVC HU after all. how does it sound? you have all the speakers amped right? by the way, great job on the tweeter install. it make more sense to me to put them there (lower) because you'll get better imaging (smaller difference in speaker distance from ear to ear) as opposed to mounting them high in the pillars.

JVC sounds great. lots of great features, and the EQ (7band) is actually quite impressive. couldn't be happier with it's performance, functions, and looks. 2V preouts but i couldn't afford the 4V version, i got this model for pretty cheap and man does it look amazing. i'll get some better pics up this weekend of it, especially after i finish changing the A/C controls to red.

right now my setup consists of the mb quarts in front, the sub in the rear, both powered by my phoenix gold amp (180W to the sub and probably 50-90W to the front). i have the HU's power amplifier turned off so it doesn't draw as much power and runs cooler. in that configuration sound only comes out of the front. when i have rear passengers i'll turn it back on and fade it slightly to the back so that they can hear at least some of the music, but when i'm driving alone or with my girl all i wanna hear is my beautiful mb quarts.

yeah, the tweeters sound magnificent. you are 100% correct, IMO that is the absolute ideal place for as-perfect-as-possible imaging. did i say they are superb?
