I have a computer for my system. Its a screen, gives me amps temperature, voltage, what each amp is running and performance of my subs and my mids/his. it displays distortion and it automatically attempts to eliminate any. I dont know if this is the kind of computer you are talking about?
We have the products which would be suitable for installation as a car PC.
7 Inch DC powered touchscreen - 1 x db15 VGA inputs, 3 x AV inputs (RCA) . NTSC/PAL compatable.

MiniPC DC Powerred - DVD, firewire, usb, onboard sound/vga, infrared (for remote control) , 10/100Mb Ethernet, upto 30gb hdd and 512mb of ram. Unit measures 6" x 5.75" x 2.25".

We use these for other applications but I feel they'd work great as an incar system and plan to add something like this to my lancer.
Its all DC powered and the PC would easily fit under the seat (or in the glovebox)
As for pricing it would depend on how many other people want such a system, if we can get 10+ we're looking at ~$450 for the screen and ~$700 for the computer.
(not sure if this breaks forum rules, we're not really a vendor aimed at autoparts, its just a product we have that could be suitable. mods: If theres a problem with this let me know)
