Cool Download Video Section

I think that we should have a forum for video downloads and uploads. It could be one general forum with threads for the Evo's, Lancer's, and other cars. There are tons of people who would post new movies and even more who would download them onto their computer. There could also be a section for Lancer meets and member's videos of their personal rides. Great idea that will be a hit...GUARANTEED!

It's a great idea, and It'll be interesting to see. I just don't see the current Server handling the big file uploads and downloads. I think we'd have to take into consideration having a Server change or possibly adding another one that could handle such uploads and downloads. I could be wrong but, we'll see.

I voted yes, but don't forget that video downloads equal high bandwidth, and high bandwidth equals more costly website fees. It would be great, but I'm happy with the site without popups or multiple ad banners.

I could see the video section happening but also expect to pay about 5 bucks a month to be a member. Small price to pay. What the heck, right? That would be enough to take care of bw and hd space.

Only No?

Im (so far) the only No vote, because of the Bandwidth and storage problems in having video. Lean and Mean works for me.

Another aspect is what is allowed to be posted? I'd think the site hosting any of the following might bring about problems:

1) Copyrighted materials (such as WRC recaps, etc)
2) Street racing videos ("my son saw it on EvoM and tried it too, and got in a wreck...")

And of course, the bandwidth usage/server utilization can get to be pretty extreme.

I thought this was brought up already.

I agree it would be a great addition to this site. However, I get "The server is too busy at the moment, please try again later" messages fequently already. The bandwidth issue would definately have to be addressed before that happened.

i think it would be a great idea, and for the person who said it would cost a lot of money for the bandwidth, perhaps while its getting started and seeing how well it works out people can upload video's to there own server, or else i agree it would cost a lot of money for the bandwidth.

The error messages are server related (running at 100% utilization), not bandwidth.
