New Speakers
New Speakers
I have an 02 LS and I am looking to replace my speakers. I have a Panasonic HU http://www.pricegrabber.com/search_t...sterid=7485970
and I am thinking about getting these Pioneer speakers http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/produ...&cm_keycode=67
The question I have is that the LS has extra speakers, and I was told to get component speakers, will I need to replace the small speakers located in the trim of the windshield? I was told they are tweeters, but I am not sure. I have been trying to figure out the best way to go about upgrading my system, so any help would be awesome. Thanks guys!

Your LS came from the factory with a component system? That's news to me... But yeah, an aftermarket component setup is best. The door speaker will need an adaptor to fit the OE speaker holes (unless you like drill'n new holes like I did). The tweeters will be mounted into or onto the A-pillar.
yea, just spend a little more and get some component sets.
thats just my opinion. yes this will require you to replace the tweeters as well, but
your mids and highs will sound alot better.
you can also later run them off a seperate amp if you want.
im not sure what size the stock tweeters are, i didnt even know any lancers came with them beside the evos anyway. so just take them out and see how big they are and then look around at some componet kits and see what would fit. most kits also come with differnt types of mounting brakets so you can mount the tweeters just about anywhare you want.

it just depend on how much you are looking to spend.
i personaly have two sets of Audiobahn ABC6002V's running off an 600 wat amp.
i think you can still pick them up for about 120 a pair. most people talk down on audiobahn and im sure some will in this thead alone, cuz most of there stuff is cheaper then everything else, but i love mine. they sound great.
