Think I can wedge this in my trunk?

Whats up guys? Found a link to a compnay that makes some pretty sick fiberglass boxes.

Think this will fit in an 03's trunk? http://www.tccustomz.com/inc/sdetail/96
Seems like it would be a tight fit. Thanks for the info

The box does appear to be well built. Not to knock them at all, but I did notice that the box has no divider, so both subs will be sharing the air space and may not be as accurate. Just a heads up.

When you click on "more images", that enclosure does have a divider. But the blue one doesn't...interesting. Btw, $200 without a sub isn't much at all actually. There is a lot of work that goes into fiberglass enclosures. Shops charge much more than $200 for custom builds.

its ok to not have a divider. My buddy makes fiberglass boxes for a living and his all sound amazing with an open box. he recently made a box for three subs all sharing the same air space and it sounds ridiculously nice

First, it all depends on if you're going for SPL or SQ. A sub or subs in an oversized box will most likely not result in great SQ but may boom like hell...at least for as long as the subs hold up.

In an undivided box the subs utilize the entire enclosure, giving them less control than they would have in the correct enclosure size. It also depends on the amount of power that is delivered to the subs. If you're running low to moderate power, in comparison to the subs' power handling, it's ok to go a bit oversized on the box. If you're hitting them with a lot of power, you should really be around the correct box size, or even a little smaller. Running a sub in a larger enclosure than it calls for can cause overexcursion, unless the sub has really good mechanical damping abilities.

I've been building enclosures and doing installs for 19 years myself. One of my installs, before I knew better, comes to mind. I was running two 8s in an undivided box and everyone swore that it sounded like a pair of 12s. That was great until the voice coil completely seperated from the spider assembly.

Thanks guys. Yall are always a huge help. I figure I'll prolly get a custom box from them with a divider and an amp rack built in on the front. Maybe. If not I'll just get their standard box. Looking at filling it with 2 Type-R 12's. I hear good things about those subs.

Not remembering my measurements, but make sure that the trunk lid arms will clear it. The arms only allow 12"-13" of clearance under them when closing...

Yeah, I saw that after I posted the topic as I was looking around their site. I'm not sure what amp I'm going to run yet. It all depends on what subs I put in. I may go with 2 Type R's or bite the bullet and get some Type X's or 12W6V2's. we'll see.
