hey all.
im new to this site and new to car audio as well. Right now im plannin my system out so by the time summer arives ill have it. I Purchased a Pioneer Deh-6800mp deck like 2 days ago, installed it and its great. My question has to deal with subwoofers. I have a friend that will sell me 2 15" subs for like $200, he said he payed 1000. I kno hes not shytin me n everything, although i havent seen them yet. I wanna kno wat kinda amp would work well with subs like that. I dont really know the rms ratings or wattage but im assuming there decent. Can someone give me an estimate price on a decent amp for these. Also, wats the difference betwen 2 Ohm and 4 Ohm, and how would u wire it differnt to establish these. What works better and what doesnt?

find out what kind they are and look them up, you will need a big amp for 2 15's i recommend just one and sell the other. try to run it at 1 ohm if you can.

ohm= resistance

1000 watts
4 ohms=250
2 ohm=500
1 ohm=1000

easy math

 

When you find out exactly what the subs are, let us know... Remember to find out if you're SVC (single voicecoil) or DVC (dual voicecoil). It does make a difference.
