i think some alarm called "hornet" has a distinct sound...also, dealer factory alarms usually have distinct sounds to them.

I dont see the point in getting an alarm system put in. Speeking from living experience in Miami, Mississippi, SanAntonio TX, and now South dakota...hearing an alarm go off is like heaing birds chirp, its so common place that i dont even think "Hey someone's car is getting broken into", because truth is, 95% of the time an alram goes off for the wrong reasons. Its like the boy who cried wolf. I say dont waste your money on an alarm and go with www.lojack.com. thats my two cents.

Thanks for all of the tips... but I have TSS. My car cant be started without the chip. I just need an alarm fto protect my stereo and other mods. I dont need a system with remote entry (cuz i got that) or remote car starting. I'm just looking for a alarm thats dependable and is pretty good. Any Ideas?

$200?

Get yerself a good angry mutt. Something that has big teeth and isn't afraid to use em. Then, take it with you wherever you go. It has a "slightly" different sound than most "conventional" alarms

Seriously, I don't have an answer... I suppose I'm just a wiseass.
