New build (progress pics) - 56K...go get a sammich

I had some "teaser" pics in a thread in Show n Shine the other day, which included some of the following pics + some new exterior shots. Since these are all stereo related pics (some of the previous ones + some updates), I figured I'd just start a new thread here. Keep in mind, this thing is far from finished...it will look better soon. Feedback welcome.

Thanks. I can't wait to post finished pics. The 'after' always looks better than the 'before'...or 'during' in this case I suppose.

Thank you. Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. The Elemental Designs components and subs got killer reviews from several people on their forum, so I figured I'd give 'em a shot. Hopefully I'll have finished pics and a review of my own in a couple of weeks.

Actually one of the first things I did when I got the Lancer was take the rear speakers out. I'm all about the front stage so I never use rear fill. People rarely ride in the back of my car anyway.

Yes, I always do every part of my installs from beginning to end. I figure, if somebody is gonna screw up and have to start over...it might as well be me.

How is it moored to the deck lid? I love the design BTW, you always create works of audio art man.... Keep us updated on the beauty it is gonna be.....

I have six mounting points at the front (closest to the back seat) of the enclosure and two at the rear. I drilled through the rear deck metal and into mounting points made of MDF blocks on the box. For the rear, I used two flat, metal brackets extending out from the sides of the box about an inch. I ran two short metal screws up into the under side of the rear deck...not the sturdiest mounting points since it's just biting into sheet metal instead of being solid and tapped, but it'll do. It won't matter when I get the side panels finished (which may be a while since I haven't started them ) because the weight of the box will then rest on them anyway. Hopefully it will all come together soon.
