Thumbs up head unit installation WITH PICS!!!!

yup, that's right. just got a kenwood KDC-4022 head unit. just like my front speaker install, i'm going to take pics and post each step with descriptions. i know there's already a head unit install in this forum, but, it has no pics... that's what i'm here for!

k, so i'm done. lets begin with the descriptions:

1. unscrew the 2 screws under the climate control console

2. pull out the little storage area underneath the climate control console from the back

3. pull off climate control knobs (note: you don't need plyers for this; i did it with my hands)

5. pry off the cover of the climate control/CD player area. i used a screw driver wrapped in electrical tape as not to scratch the surface.

6. eventually, the back will just come off after prying is complete.

7. unscrew the 4 screws that support the brackets the stock head unit is attached to

9. unhook the harness and the power cable from the back of the stock head unit

13. using the screws that came with the new head unit (not the old screws) place the old head unit's brackets on the new head unit

14. connect the wiring harness to the new head unit's wiring harness.
